From over 400 minority-owned firms, the Manhattan MBDA Business Center has selected seven member firms to receive our Center’s awards to recognize their achievements and economic contributions of minority-owned firms. The Manhattan MBDA Business Center Awards have been conferred to the following firms to celebrate the outstanding achievements of minority entrepreneurs, as well as the individuals and organizations that have demonstrated their commitment to advancing minority business enterprises.

LB ELECTRIC - Manhattan MBDA Business Center Minority Construction Firm of the Year

Cedar Grove, New Jersey’s LB Electric Company has been presented with the Manhattan MBDA Business Center Minority Construction Firm of the Year Award. Leon K. Baptiste, LB Electric’s president and CEO, is a product of the stellar Newark Public School’s education and esteemed mentorships that continued throughout his collegiate

tutelage. He merged his education, experience, skills and counsel to become an

exceptional entrepreneur of 21 years.

LB Electric is an electrical contracting and engineering firm that has been

Toll International LLC - Manhattan MBDA Business Center Minority Technology Firm of the Year

Toll International LLC is a certified New York State minority owned (MBE) Information Technology firm focused on delivering Expert Professional Technology Consulting Services to a breadth of private and public clients. The firm’s experience includes software implementation, upgrade, maintenance and project control systems integration. It has been in business for 15 years and is established in Manhattan as a New York Limited Liability Company.

Toll works with owners of large scale capital construction programs above $1 Billion in annual expenditures and design-build megaprojects above $100 Million, and has maintained long term relationships with government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. The firm currently has a backlog of 21 Expert Professional Technology Consulting Services projects with both public and private entities. 15 of their agreements are prime contracts and 6 of them are sub-consulting agreements. The firm is often called in to resolve lingering problems or to correct issues after a botched technology implementation.


Route 66 international - Manhattan MBDA Business Center Minority Manufacturing Firm of the Year


Route 66 international was founded by Mr. Yul Park in 2016. After importing and selling different items from South Korea, Mr Park and Monica Lee launched Korean roasted seaweed in the US market in August of 2018. The majority of seaweed used in the U.S. is imported from China, and their Korean seaweed was loved by thousands of professional sushi chefs who appreciate the premium quality and great taste. Since 2018, its sales revenue has been growing over 30% every quarter.


The company opened the first and only roasted seaweed factory on the East coast in early 2020, which enabled them to make fresher and tastier products and monitor the quality of the roasted seaweed. It currently sells US-made roasted seaweed across 31 states to more than 600 restaurants. Every year Route66 awards customers’ children with scholarships. During the opening face of the COVID 19 pandemic, they aided their customers with reopening signs for their restaurants.
